Convention of opening scene - childrens film

Music/voiceover

In an opening scene there is usually non-diegetic music in the background. This can sometimes be a theme tune which is the regular music for that particular film. It can sometimes be a voiceover where someone is narrating at the start of the film. However most of the time a certain piece of music is put together and inserted in the scene. This type of music can depend on the genre. For instance ina an action genre the music will usually be high tempo, tense and involve loud instruments. If the genre is a fantasy then the music is usually calm, light-hearted snd childlike.
